6. Take a baby step. If you feel dismayed at the prospect of a chain of awful tasks that you have to accomplish, take just one step today. Tomorrow, take the next step. The forward motion will be encouraging, and before long you'll probably find yourself speeding toward completion. Although we often overestimate what we can do in a short time, we underestimate what we can do over the long term if we make a little progress each day. If you do a little each day, over the course of a month you'll get a lot accomplished.
This is a good list of ideas, most or all of them I have played as games to move myself forward. The baby steps idea is oe I have written about many times, but I advocate doing lots of things every day. My livelihood has depended upon it. But it is true that geeting started is the biggest part of the battle. Once you can get moving, it is much easier to keep moving.
I merely commit (to myself) to do one simple step in a series of steps toward a larger project. If I don't just keep going as I usually DO, I commit to another small step. No more. Only very occasionally am I unable to get going full steam. When that does happen, I usually should be home in bed anyway. But it do
The other ideas presented here are simple, but well thought. Try them if you haven't.
