All told, more than two dozen members of Congress have publicly endorsed the idea.
Congressional seating is open at the State of the Union on a first-come basis, so anyone can sit anywhere — outside of the first few rows reserved for cabinet officials, Supreme Court justices and certain congressional leaders.

Give me a break. This can't be real.
When I was a twelve year old Boy Scout, we wojuld end our troop meetings by holding hads having first crossed them in front of us, singing Kum-ba-ya or saying a little memorized health 'til we meet again prayer. I thought is was a little cheezy then, but it actually may have played a role in helping make me a better, more-accepting adult. But I doubt it.
I think that mostly came from my parents example, a lot of travel to exotic and different places, inherent Southern Gentilism, which was originally designed to avoid duels to the death, good genetics, proper conditioning, a defined and principled set of morals derived from a well-defined religion, a properly programmed, or God-given conscience, and YES, FROM LEARNING THE BOY SCOUT LAW, OATH, MOTTO, AND SLOGAN. I SUGGEST any OF THE ABOVE OVER SOME SUPERFICIAL AND HYPOCRITICAL FEEL GOOD DEMONSTRATION TO THE VOTERS THAT WILL BE ABANDONED TWO DAYS AFTER THE STATE OF THE UNION SPEECH.
IT IS NOT THE JOB OF CONGRESS TO LIKE EACH OTHER. IT IS THEIR JOB TO REPRESNT THEIR CONSTITUENTS AS BEST THEY CAN, AND TO FIGHT FOR THEIR RIGHTS.
EVEN OUR GREAT PRESIDENTIAL EXAMPLE ABRAHAM LINCOLN WAS ONCE INVOLVED IN A DUEL OVER POLITICAL MATTERS.
