Many years ago, during the time that I refer to as my Waldon Pond Era, I farmed thirteen acreas with garden, fruit, chickens, milk goats, and fish. Although I kept a good balance of game fish in our couple acre pond, which had come with the ancient rock stage-coach inn, I mostly kept catfish. Catfish are remarkable in their protein food conversion ratio.
During the cooler months I did not feed the catfish, but curing the warmer months the catfish required supplemental floating catfish food. Contrary to the shsshing to be quiet while fishing with my dad as a kid, fish don't hear in the conventional way that other animals do. Th9ough thye might pick up some vibration from a loud voice in the air, they are most alarmed by vibrations eminating from earth-borne and water-borne sources. A rock thrown narby or into the water will surely scare them. So will a banged paddle on a boat.
Fish can easily hear the vibrations of footsteps. I learned this after feeding them every evening by walking down to a good protrusion of the bank into the water and broadcasting the floating pretein pellets across the surface of the water. It didn't take buyt a few days for the fish to be conditioned to wait for me. They hit the food as soon as it hit the wter. Then after a few weeks, they would come to life whenever they heard my steps near the correct time of the evening.
As I approached my feeding place the water would fairly expload as some hundred an fifty fifteen inch catfish would race to get their share of the floating food. It looked like Pirannah gobbling up a misplaced animals in the waters of the Amazon. Perhaps pirannah paint a better picture analagous to the feeding frenzy now takiing place on Capitol Hill.
Has evereryone just gone completely nuts with greed in this effort to get their share of the unfortunate gazzillion dollars of tax-payers money! Or is it something more sinister. In any case it is sinister enough to forever change our economy. Why the big rush to slam-dunk this spending bill. and this is exactly what it is--it is a free-for-all pig-lot grab it while you can spending spree. The democrats see the opportunity to go for it all. And although they may not know the exact outcome to orchestrate, they know that they can sort it all out later--just grab now--and chew later.
We are watching, in front of our noses, the raping of America. Pillage is the word of the day, with all the giddiness and foul of Black-beards nasty crew. I've said it before. "You wanted change? You got it!" It is over. America is over. The grand experiment of capitalism is over. Goodbye America. Hello Stalingrad. The kind of power and pandemomium unleashed by the governmental control of what should be private monenies is, in my opinion, irreversible. Next thing, they take our guns and tell us what to do.
Man have I aged.
