Governor Palin’s Secessionist Husband ToddPosted on September 3rd, 2008 by psburton in Alaska News, All News, Arizona News, Blogosphere News, Breaking News, Minnesota News, Op-edRead 460 times. From 1995 to 2002 Todd Palin husband of She who would be the next vice president was a card carrying member of the Anti-American Alaskan Independence Party. The smoking gun came in registration records supplied by the Alaska Division of Elections.
This same woman who wants to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency told the separatist group “Keep up the good work,” in a videotaped speech to their convention six months ago in Fairbanks. She wished the party luck on what she called its “inspiring convention.
What was Senator McCain thinking when he selected Sarah Palin? “Which country first” one might ask considering the radical political ties of Governor Palin’s husband Todd, the United States or the independent Republic of Alaska?
The GOP wants to talk about patriotism and character; I’d like the Governor of Alaska to clarify her position on loyalty to the constitution of the United States.
At what point do we begin to ask questions about the Governors judgment in addressing a group of neo-radicals who preach what amounts to sedition. McCain surrogates have set the bar high for Governor Palin’s acceptance speech. We are assured all of America will fall in love with Sarah Palin the hockey Mom and spunky outsider who single handedly took on the corrupt Alaskan republican power structure and has reformed it top to bottom
For those of us who live in the real world It becomes evident with every passing day, Senator McCain dropped the ball in the Palin vetting process and try as they might to redirect the topic to her skills as moose hunter and Mayor, I speculate the GOP for all the glitz and hype will leave the convention a party unified but saddled with a veep who’s views, behavior and actions raise serious questions with a great many undecided voters.

tipoftheiceberg said,in September 4th, 2008 at 6:52 am So some posters think that official voting records issued by the state of Alaska are fake?
The videotape of her speaking at the A.I.P. is fake also?
There is even more to come with her…
And how can a party that is turning out to be the Christian Conservative party, praise a man whose wealth comes from beer money (isn’t drinking shunned for most of them and I would think profitting from it should be) and praising that a 16 year girl is pregnant and getting married and she is to be praised???
I don’t recall republicans praising jamie lynn spears months ago when it came out that she was pregnant and getting married.
And know there is allegations of an affair that she had…more of her family values?
And for the posters that said they like that she is average, what are you thinking? I do not want a hockey mom as the VP, I want someone that has an understanding of the complex issues that she will face or at least knows what the duties of VP consist of (which she didn’t as of 2 1/2 weeks ago). My 11 year old knew that the VP presided over the Senate, and she didn’t…that horrifies me.
beantrader said,in September 4th, 2008 at 7:00 am Since when is dissent un-American?
Did you psburton look into the issues as to why did party came about in the first place? my guess is you know next to nothing about the party but decided to sling the arrow anyway. What the media fails to realize is that we the people know Governor Palin is far from perfect, but we can all relate to her home life situation and admire how she has responded and dealt with those problems.
tipoftheiceberg said,in September 4th, 2008 at 7:00 am I forgot to mention that I have seen various bits here and there that the A.I.P. sympathized with Timothy McVeigh a known and convicted terriost…I think her patriotism should be questioned along with her husbands. Let’s not forget how Michelle Obama has had hers questioned for months. I think we should be just as concerned about hers and her husbands.
If the voting records for the state of Alaska are fake, then I think that the Gov. has some questions to answer.

Dissent is not considered to be putting your country first. As I recall, there were a lot of sign waving at the GOP that read
“Country First”
It seems very unpatriotic, and this election seems to be questioning people’s patriotism quite a bit.
So a dem can say that she is proud for the first time in a long time and that is a bad thing, but if a rep. wanting to be your own country is acceptable?
Please clarify the rules, I must be missing something…
